Former MP in Thailand kills party leader: Confesses live on air

In Nonthaburi, Thailand, former member of parliament Chalong Riewraeng shot and killed Provincial Administrative Organization President Thongchai Yenprasert in his office. After the incident, Riewraeng went live, stating he carried out the attack because the victim had not repaid a debt. The attacker was taken into custody by police.

Former Thai MP Chalong Riewraeng has been detained in Nonthaburi city on suspicion of fatally shooting Provincial Administrative Organization Chief Thongchai Yenprasert.

ARMED ATTACK ON ORGANIZATION CHIEF IN HIS OFFICE

According to the Bangkok Post newspaper, an armed attack was carried out at the Provincial Administrative Organization office responsible for administrative affairs in Nonthaburi city, near the capital Bangkok.

After an armed individual entered the office and fired several shots, the Provincial Administrative Organization Chief Yenprasert died at the hospital where he was taken.

CONNECTED TO LIVE BROADCAST AND DESCRIBED THE MURDER

In the police statement, it was noted that immediately after the incident, Riewraeng called a broadcaster who was on air at the time and described shooting Yenprasert.

Riewraeng, who told the broadcaster that he shot Yenprasert because he refused to pay his debt, has been taken into custody.
