A 38-year-old young man in Nevşehir was found dead at home after going outside to smoke, despite suffering from COPD and sleep apnea.
In the incident that occurred on Kocamaz Street in the Herikli neighborhood of Nevşehir; 38-year-old Tolga Çapaçeken went outside to get some fresh air late at night. After spending some time outside, the young man returned home and entered his room. When his relatives went to check on him, they found him lying motionless on the floor. Upon the relatives' notification, health teams were dispatched to the scene. After a health check, it was determined that Tolga Çapaçeken had died.
HE NEEDED TO BE ATTACHED TO A RESPIRATOR
Health teams assessed the situation as suspicious when they saw that the young man, who suffered from COPD and sleep apnea and was supposed to be lying connected to a respirator at night, was lying on the floor without being connected to the device. They reported the incident to the police and the forensic doctor. It was noted that Tolga Çapaçeken, who had been treated at Nevşehir State Hospital for a while due to COPD and sleep apnea and was discharged, occasionally went outside secretly to smoke. It was claimed that Çapaçeken had gone outside to smoke before his death and returned home, but collapsed on the floor without being able to connect himself to the oxygen device due to his condition.
LAST POST WAS WHILE SMOKING
Tolga Çapaçeken shared a photo of himself smoking in his last post on social media, writing, "Instead of being drunk in your embrace, I have become a vagabond, hiding in the sorrow of your absence. That really bothers me." After the investigation conducted by the public prosecutor and the scene teams, Tolga Çapaçeken's lifeless body was taken to the morgue of Nevşehir State Hospital for an autopsy. The exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy.
