A person was found dead in his hotel room in Antalya. It was reported that the liquid substance found next to him was identified as hepta deca fluoro octane sulfonic acid solution, and the solid substance was under examination.
HUNG A "DO NOT DISTURB" SIGN ON THE DOOR
The incident occurred at a hotel in the Akkuyu neighborhood of Konyaaltı district during midday hours. According to the information obtained, Orhan Akyol (28), who had come from Ankara to Antalya for a holiday about a week ago, checked into a suite hotel in Konyaaltı district. Last seen by the staff two days ago, Akyol hung a 'Do not disturb' sign on his room door.
HOTEL STAFF FOUND HIS LIFELESS BODY IN THE ROOM
Today, at midday, when hotel staff knocked on the door of Akyol, who was supposed to check out, and received no response, they entered the room and found him motionless. After the incident was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center, police and medical teams were dispatched to the hotel. Akyol was determined to have lost his life during the examination.
SUSPICIOUS SUBSTANCES IN THE ROOM PROMPTED TEAMS TO ACT
Following this, Antalya Police Department Homicide Bureau and Crime Scene Investigation teams were dispatched to the scene. During the initial examination, Homicide Bureau teams noticed two different containers next to Akyol's lifeless body, one containing a liquid and the other a solid substance. Suspecting they might be chemical substances, AFAD teams were called to the scene.
AFAD CONDUCTED MEASUREMENTS
AFAD teams, wearing oxygen tanks and masks, entered the room and determined that the liquid substance was hepta deca fluoro octane sulfonic acid solution using a CBRN (hazardous material) measurement and detection device. Following the work of the prosecutor's office and Crime Scene Investigation teams, the young man's body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue to determine the exact cause of death. The other substance found in the container was placed in an evidence bag and taken into custody for examination.
