Agent George Gardi made important statements regarding Galatasaray's transfer agenda. Gardi expressed that he really wanted to bring Ademola Lookman to Galatasaray but was unable to do so, saying, "I tried to transfer Lookman; I wanted to replicate the Osimhen transfer with a loan option to buy. But they didn't want to sell him. The same thing happened in January, this time Atalanta's demands were very high."
In recent seasons, agent George Gardi, who has played a significant role in Galatasaray's important transfers, made statements to TuttoSport ahead of the match against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League.
"I AM NOT A PAID EMPLOYEE"
Speaking about his role at Galatasaray, Gardi said, "I am not a paid employee of Galatasaray. Important work has been done, and I hope to continue to maintain Galatasaray's respect."
"I COULDN'T GET LOOKMAN"
In response to the question, "What is your biggest regret? The biggest opportunity you missed?" George Gardi stated, "Especially when it comes to top-level players, it is normal for some transfers not to materialize. There are countless variables and conditions for this. After the agreement with Inter fell through last summer, I tried to transfer Lookman; I wanted to replicate the Osimhen transfer; a loan with a purchase option. But they didn't want to sell him. The same thing happened in January; this time Atalanta's demands were very high."
"WE WANTED KENAN AT GALATASARAY"
In response to the question, "What about Kenan Yıldız? Three years ago, former Juventus sporting director Giovanni Manna seemed convinced by Galatasaray's offer?" the famous agent replied, "At that time, Kenan Yıldız was a young player. He was a young talent playing in Juventus's Primavera team and starting to make a name for himself in Next Gen, about to come of age. An incredible talent, but still an unexposed talent. At the end of January 2023, I went to Turin to initiate talks with Juventus. There were disagreements over the figures; Juventus wanted 7 million, but the agent did not accept. I tried again in the summer of 2023, but by that point, the player's value within the club had increased, and Juventus's demands had skyrocketed."
