In the event held in snowy and cold weather, Serdengeçti swam uninterrupted for 30 minutes in the 5-degree water and occasionally made dives.

Governor Serdengeçti shared images and a message about his swimming tour around Giresun Island on his social media account. In his post, Serdengeçti stated: "Can you swim in the winter? When you see the unique, one-of-a-kind Giresun Island, the question answers itself. When the city's unique view is in front of you, the Black Sea warms your heart. In such a harmony, while paddling in the cool waters, this season, with one side blue and the other side white, is just a matter of the calendar."
