An operation was carried out against suspects identified as having created artificial price movements through speculation on certain stocks in Borsa Istanbul. In operations conducted in 5 provinces centered in Istanbul, 12 suspects were detained, including illusionist Aref Ghafouri and former football player Gökhan Gönül.
In the BIST (Istanbul Stock Exchange) equity market, an investigation has been launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office due to irregular fluctuations in trading volume and stock prices that are contrary to the ordinary course of life, which have been identified as artificial increases that have harmed small investors.
7 PEOPLE HAD BEEN ARRESTED IN THE SAME INVESTIGATION
Within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that 25 individuals, including those based in Antalya, Samsun, Ankara, and Kahramanmaraş, engaged in manipulative actions regarding the shares of Avrupa Yatırım Holding A.Ş. It was established that 7 suspects, named Onur Yılmaz, Mehmet Yılmaz, Emre Kızılırmak, Erol Demir, Osman Özsoy, Suat Hamarat, and Sebahattin Azizağaoğlu, are currently in custody in prison under the investigation initiated for "establishing an organization to commit a crime" and "market fraud" charges.
12 MORE SUSPECTS, INCLUDING GÖKHAN GÖNÜL, HAVE BEEN DETAINED
A new operation was conducted in the same investigation in the morning hours. It was learned that suspects Aref Ghafouri, Bedri Erdoğan, Cemal Çetinkaya, Furkan Koçak, Alper Atalay, İlker İlhan, Muhammet Erdoğan, Murat Ağcabağ, Murat Güler, Gökhan Gönül, Emrullah Şalk, and Akif Koç were detained, while judicial procedures for the arrest, search, and seizure of 6 other suspects are ongoing.
