The artist described the illness process that began in 2023 and the major surgeries she underwent: "Yesterday, I went through a very tough treatment. My illness is pancreatic cancer, one of the most dangerous types. I didn't ask 'Why me?' I accepted it. I underwent very heavy surgeries, and I experienced hellish days. After chemotherapy and radiotherapy, I felt relief for a while, but then it relapsed in my intestines.
Now my intestines are emptying into a stoma bag; I have been living like this for six months. Although it is difficult, I try to face this process with humor. I named my intestine 'Pembiş' and my pancreas 'Panki.' When my doctor heard 'Panki,' he asked, 'Is that your dog?' and we laughed a lot. In fact, when I learned that my uterus and ovaries would be removed, I joked, 'Will I not be able to have babies anymore?' I may not have been able to think positively, but I always made jokes. I am 73 years old, but I still carry the spirit of a 10-year-old child."
