The cause of death of Esen Gök, Turkey's first female sports commentator, whose lifeless body was found hanging from a natural gas pipe in Bakırköy with a note saying, "Sister, you are not responsible. I have always looked for excuses," has been determined. According to the autopsy conducted at the forensic medicine institution, there were no signs of trauma or cuts on Gök's body, and it was established that her death was a result of suicide.
On July 19, in the Osmaniye neighborhood of Bakırköy district in Istanbul, after relatives of Esen Gök, Turkey's first female race commentator, reported her missing, they entered her residence with the help of a locksmith.
FOUND HANGING FROM A NATURAL GAS PIPE
Teams found Gök's lifeless body hanging from a natural gas pipe with a bedsheet. The initial examination revealed that the door of the house was locked from the inside, the key was found in the door, and there were no signs of forced entry.
CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED
The autopsy of Esen Gök, conducted at the Forensic Medicine Institution's Morgue Specialization Department, has been completed. The examination found no evidence of any prohibited substances in Gök's body. The autopsy report stated that there were no signs of trauma or cuts on Gök's body, that the hanging act occurred while the person was alive, and that the death was determined to be a result of hanging. The report was sent to the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which is conducting the investigation into the incident.
SHE HAD LEFT A SUICIDE NOTE
A note was found in the house, believed to have been written by Esen Gök, stating, "Sister, you are not responsible, you never did anything wrong. I always looked for excuses."
