Former Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan, who was dismissed at the beginning of February, was spotted in Bodrum months later. Footage emerged showing Erkan allegedly continuing to receive a gross salary of approximately 300,000 TL despite being removed from her position. The footage also revealed a grand birthday party for her son in the common area of a villa.
The first female president of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Hafize Gaye Erkan, was dismissed at the beginning of February, and her deputy Fatih Karahan was appointed in her place.
Hafize Gaye Erkan was spotted in Bodrum months later. Remembered for her words complaining about the high rent prices in Istanbul, Erkan expressed that they couldn't find a house and moved in with her mother, saying "Can Istanbul be more expensive than Manhattan?"
A SPECTACULAR BIRTHDAY PARTY
Erkan, who was claimed to have bought a seafront villa in one of Bodrum's most expensive residences for 91 million liras, threw a spectacular birthday party for her son in the common area of the villa.
In the footage obtained by Sözcü newspaper, images from the birthday party organized by Erkan for her son can be seen, with a large group chatting with each other in the garden decorated with balloons.
SHE SPARED NO EXPENSE FOR THE PARTY
It didn't go unnoticed that Erkan, who continues to receive a gross salary of approximately 300,000 TL despite being dismissed from her position, spared no expense for her son's birthday party.
