In the third wave of the operation targeting the Şile Municipality, 13 of the 17 suspects detained were arrested, while 4 were released under judicial supervision. It was learned that among those arrested was Berkant Acil, the brother of singer Haluk Levent. Acil was sent to prison.
A new operation was conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the investigation into an organized crime group for profit, allegedly led by Şile Mayor Özgür Kabadayı. In the investigation, following the first and second waves of operations, effective remorse statements, witness testimonies, seized documents, phone examination reports, HTS records, and account transactions were examined regarding the crimes of 'forming and being a member of an organization for the purpose of committing a crime', 'bribery', 'extortion', and 'tender fraud', leading to suspicion that crimes were committed in 6 additional actions.
13 PEOPLE ARRESTED In this context, simultaneous operations were conducted at 21 addresses in Istanbul and Izmir on June 26. Of the 18 suspects for whom detention warrants were issued, 17 were apprehended in the operations, while 1 fugitive suspect was later taken into custody. After their statements were taken on June 29, the suspects were referred by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to the duty criminal judgeship with requests for the arrest of 13 and judicial control for 4. The judgeship decided to arrest the 13 suspects requested for detention, while 4 suspects were released under judicial control.
Berkant Acil HALUK LEVENT'S BROTHER ALSO SENT TO PRISON According to information reported by journalist Burak Doğan, among those arrested is singer Haluk Levent's brother, Berkant Acil. Acil, who was arrested, has been sent to prison.
