Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri stated that Hamas has accepted the ceasefire decision of the United Nations Security Council and is ready to negotiate the details. The expected ceasefire plan consists of three stages.

Hamas announced that it accepts the ceasefire proposal adopted in the United Nations Security Council and is ready for negotiations.

CEASEFIRE PROPOSAL RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT

A resolution calling for international support for the three-stage ceasefire proposal announced by US President Joe Biden on May 31 in the Gaza Strip and urging Hamas to accept the proposal was put to a vote in the United Nations Security Council. The resolution was adopted with 14 in favor and 1 abstention from Russia.

"WE ARE READY TO NEGOTIATE TO DISCUSS THE DETAILS"

Following the vote in the UN Security Council, Hamas announced that it accepts the resolution adopted in the UNSC. Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri stated that they are ready for negotiations to discuss the details and added that it is up to Washington to ensure Israel's compliance. Zuhri said, "The US administration is facing a real test to fulfill its commitments to end the occupation by implementing the UN Security Council resolution."

CEASEFIRE PLAN CONSISTS OF 3 STAGES

The first stage of the three-stage ceasefire plan announced by US President Biden at the end of last month includes a six-month ceasefire along with the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza settlements, and the return of Palestinian civilians to their places of residence. The first stage also envisages the safe entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The second stage of the proposal includes the release of remaining hostages in Gaza through an agreement between Israel and Hamas to permanently end hostilities and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

The third stage includes a reconstruction plan in Gaza and the delivery of the bodies of the deceased hostages to their families.
