The Social Security Institution (SGK) stated that the claim "650 thousand people's pensions were canceled in the last 5 years" does not reflect the truth, and the number of people whose pensions were canceled during that period is 12,209.
DENIAL OF THE OUTRAGEOUS CLAIM
In a statement from the institution, it was noted that some media outlets published news containing the claim "650 thousand people's pensions were canceled in the last 5 years," and it was deemed necessary to make a statement to inform the public correctly.
"A TOTAL OF 12,209 PEOPLE'S PENSIONS WERE CANCELED"
In the statement emphasizing that "the claim does not reflect the truth," the following expressions were included: "As a result of the intensive inspections and investigations conducted by our Social Security Institution between 2021 and 2025, 560,540 people have been identified as false insured. The mentioned figure only represents the number of people reported as false insured and does not constitute data regarding pension cancellations. As a result of these investigations, a total of 12,209 people's pensions have been canceled. Among them, 9,304 people's pensions were canceled under 4-a (SSK) and 2,905 people's pensions were canceled under 4-b (Bağ-Kur)."
