The boyfriend of 28-year-old teacher Hatice Biçmek, who fell from the 7th floor in Kartal and lost her life, has been taken into custody as a suspect. It has been learned that DNA samples belonging to Biçmek were found under the suspect's fingernails, who had previously been detained and later released, and that he was caught in Samsun. The suspect was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison.

The incident occurred in the Cevizli neighborhood of Kartal on September 9, 2024. Around 6:00 AM, teacher Hatice Biçmek fell from the building she lived in and lost her life. Eyewitnesses reported to the police after seeing the body on the ground once it got light. Investigations revealed that Hatice Biçmek fell from the terrace on the 7th floor where she lived.

HE WAS DETAINED AND RELEASED

In the investigation initiated by the police regarding the incident, Beytullah Ö., who was learned to be Hatice Biçmek's boyfriend, was detained at that time. It was learned that in his statement at the police station, Beytullah Ö. said that they returned home around 10:00 PM on the night of the incident and that they had consumed alcohol. In his statement, Beytullah Ö. mentioned that Hatice Biçmek's ex-husband had committed suicide, which caused the young woman to be depressed and use medication. He said, "There was no argument between us. I left the house in the morning. I learned about the issue later." After his statement was taken, B.Ö. was released under judicial control conditions.

HE WAS ARRESTED WHEN DNA WAS FOUND UNDER HIS NAILS

As part of the investigation conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office, DNA belonging to Hatice Biçmek was found in the swab samples taken from Beytullah Ö.'s fingernails. A new detention order was issued for the suspect. Beytullah Ö., who was caught in Samsun, was brought to Istanbul and referred to the courthouse; he was then arrested and sent to prison.
