US President Joe Biden, who has previously contracted the coronavirus twice, has now fallen ill once again. In a statement on his social media account, Biden said, "I am sick," and expressed his frustration with Elon Musk, the owner of companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, and X, and his wealthy friends trying to buy this election. Biden also mentioned for the first time that he could withdraw from candidacy if one of his doctors were to mention a health issue.
The White House announced that US President Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid. Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden's press secretary, stated that the President, who has received Covid vaccines, experienced the illness with "mild symptoms." 81-year-old Biden had previously contracted Covid twice.
The White House stated that Biden will rest at his home in Delaware and continue his duties during this time. His doctor, Kevin O'Connor, said that Biden showed symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection, including a runny nose and cough, and was given the antiviral medication Paxlovid, also known as the "Covid pill."

While campaigning in Las Vegas, Biden fell ill and canceled his events, traveling back home by plane. He was seen walking slowly and carefully onto the plane. When boarding Air Force One, Biden said, "I feel good." He then thanked everyone who sent well wishes in a tweet from his account and stated that he is continuing his work.
In another tweet, Biden began with "I am sick," but surprised by completing the sentence as follows: "I'm tired of Elon Musk and his wealthy friends trying to buy this election." Biden targeted Elon Musk, who announced that he would donate $45 million per month to the Donald Trump campaign and supported him, by sharing a link to his own campaign donation site.
BIDEN FACES PRESSURE TO WITHDRAW FROM CANDIDACY
Biden will compete as the Democratic candidate in the upcoming presidential elections. Biden, whose performance in the debate program at the end of June was considered weak, faces pressure to withdraw from the candidacy due to his advancing age. Around 20 politicians from the Democratic Party called on Biden to withdraw from the race in recent weeks.
Among them, Congressman Adam Schiff from California stated in a recent statement, "I am highly skeptical that the President can defeat Trump." Schiff called on Biden to "pass the torch to someone else" and said that Biden could maintain his leadership credibility by promoting another candidate.

However, Biden also mentioned for the first time that he would withdraw from the race if one of his doctors tells him that he has health issues.
