KILLED WHILE DISGUISED AS A POSTMAN
The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 24, on Maslak Çeşme Street in Küçükçekmece. According to information obtained, a suspect disguised as a postman came to a phone shop operating on the street and carried out an armed attack on the business owner, Çetin Aktürk (48), under the pretext of having him sign a prepared fake notification. Çetin Aktürk, who was the target of the bullets from the attacker's gun, lost his life. It was learned that the suspect fled the scene on foot.
NOTICED BY A POLICE OFFICER ON ANNUAL LEAVE
While the Public Order Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau teams initiated an investigation into the incident, new details emerged regarding the case.
It was determined that suspect Berzan K. stayed at a hotel near the address where the phone shop was located and conducted reconnaissance on the street. It was learned that Berzan K. came to the phone shop with a fake notification, asked for Çetin Aktürk's identification, and after confirming he was Aktürk by looking at the ID, fired a gun repeatedly. It was established that the suspect fled the scene on foot, changed his clothes in a green area, and left his weapon there.
Additionally, it was learned that he had made an agreement with an organizer to flee to Greece via Edirne. Berzan K., who came to Esenler Bus Terminal to go to Edirne, was noticed thanks to the attention of a police officer on annual leave. Upon the tip-off, teams took action and apprehended the suspect at the bus terminal, taking him into custody.
REVENGE FOR THE GÖRKEM BEDIR MURDER
It was learned that in his statement to the police, suspect Berzan K. claimed that Çetin Aktürk was the instigator of the murder of Görkem Bedir, who died as a result of an armed attack in 2024, and that he committed the murder to avenge Görkem Bedir. One of the vehicles used in Görkem Bedir's murder was found to belong to Çetin Aktürk's sister. Osman U., who was considered to be connected to the incident and who visited the hotel where suspect Berzan K. stayed to conduct reconnaissance on the street where the phone shop was located, was also taken into custody.
Suspects Berzan K. and Osman U. were referred to the courthouse after the completion of their procedures at the police station.
