A luxury car worth approximately 15 million lira left at a repair shop in Kağıthane crashed into an SUV after losing control during a test drive. Following the accident, the repair shop owner, who fled the scene, was fined 174,719 lira, while the vehicle owner, who was found to have let an unlicensed person drive the car, was fined 40,000 lira. The luxury car was impounded from traffic for 30 days, and the moment of the crash and escape were captured by security cameras.
A luxury car worth approximately 15 million lira, left at a repair shop in Kağıthane, was involved in an accident during a test drive. The repair shop owner fled the scene after causing the jeep he hit to overturn. The driver was fined 174,719 lira, and the vehicle owner was fined 40,000 lira.
LEFT 15 MILLION LIRA CAR AT REPAIR SHOP
The incident occurred on Friday, June 26, at around 20:00 in Kağıthane Merkez Mahallesi. Bahadır G., a car dealer from Silivri, left his luxury car, worth about 15 million lira, at a repair shop in Gürsel Mahallesi to fix a transmission issue.
After the repair was completed, the shop owner, Erdal A. (41), took the car for a test drive.
HIT THE JEEP AFTER STEPPING ON THE GAS
During the test drive, allegedly pressing the gas too hard, Erdal A. lost control of the steering and hit a jeep with license plate 34 MIH 046, driven by Caner K. (38).
Due to the impact, the jeep crashed into a roadside lighting pole and overturned. The injured driver, Caner K., received on-site medical attention from health teams.
FLED AFTER THE ACCIDENT
After the accident, the luxury car driver Erdal A. left the scene. Teams from the Kağıthane Public Order Bureau and Kağıthane Traffic Enforcement Bureau examined security cameras and quickly identified the vehicle. The luxury car was found abandoned on a street, and it was determined that the driver was Erdal A., the repair shop owner.
OVER 174 THOUSAND LIRA IN FINES
Following the investigation, Erdal A. was fined a total of 174,719 lira for offenses including driving without a license, using a registered vehicle without plates, having window tinting, and leaving the accident scene before authorities arrived.
Car owner Bahadır G. was fined 40,000 lira for allowing a person without a driver's license to use the vehicle. The luxury car, worth approximately 15 million lira, was also impounded from traffic for 30 days.
ACCIDENT AND ESCAPE CAUGHT ON CAMERA
Security camera footage shows the luxury car speeding away from the scene after the collision. Moments later, Erdal A. and the person with him got out of the stopped vehicle and walked to the repair shop, also captured on camera.
