Serkan Gür, who produces wedding organization and equipment in Bozüyük, Bilecik, stepped into the industry after noticing gaps while preparing for his own wedding. Today, he employs 56 people in his facility, which spans 5,650 square meters, and exports products to 56 countries.
In the Bozüyük district of Bilecik, 26-year-old Serkan Gür, while preparing for his own wedding, noticed a gap in the sector and began producing various items such as wedding tables, henna thrones, backdrop curtains, candlesticks, chairs, and tables for events and weddings.
NOTICED A GAP IN THE SECTOR WHILE GETTING MARRIED
Gür, who is married and a father of one, realized that there was a lack of production related to the equipment used in events, especially while preparing for his own wedding. After working in different sectors for a while, Gür started production in 2021 in a 30-square-meter workshop to manufacture event and wedding equipment. With the increasing demand over time, Gür decided to expand his facility last year by investing in machinery and equipment.
EXPORTING TO 56 COUNTRIES
In his facility of 5,650 square meters in Bozüyük, Gür directly employs 56 people and exports various event and wedding equipment such as wedding tables, henna thrones, backdrop curtains, candlesticks, chairs, and tables to 56 countries as well as within the country.
"I STARTED IN A SMALL 30-SQUARE-METER WORKSHOP"
Serkan Gür stated that he had previously worked in different sectors but was not successful. He mentioned that every failure added experience to him and that he never gave up on entrepreneurship. Gür explained that he started this business after noticing a gap in the organization sector while preparing for his own wedding, saying, "I started in a small 30-square-meter workshop. Today, we have become a large facility producing in an enclosed area of 5,650 square meters. We produce all organizational products, from wooden, metal, and plexiglass to neon signs and henna thrones, in-house.
We manufacture all the equipment needed by an event company under one roof in our factory. We supply to thousands of businesses across Turkey, including villages and districts. We are the equipment supplier for thousands of businesses such as wedding halls, event companies, and invitation houses throughout Turkey."
Gür explained that they also have a strong network abroad, stating, "Our products have started to be used in 56 countries, especially in Germany, Belgium, Macedonia, and the Netherlands. It is a source of pride for us that a brand from Bozüyük is expanding to the world."
"WE PROVIDE JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR ABOUT 120 PEOPLE"
Gür mentioned that the design process is entirely carried out in-house and that they follow the needs of event companies working in the field. He stated that they analyze trends, colors, and concepts, and create product designs with both the technical team and the R&D unit, adding, "The drawing, dimensions, ratios, and materials of each product are entirely ours. In other words, we do not copy a product from outside. On the contrary, we present designs that set new trends in the sector.
In addition to directly employing 56 people in the facility, we provide job opportunities for about 120 people according to demand through subcontracted sewing jobs we offer to homes. Thanks to the jobs we provide to women who produce at home, we contribute to the income of many families. We support women's employment in the region. All our team members working both in the factory and at home are the real heroes of this management power that opens from Bozüyük to Turkey. As our production capacity increases, we will continue to offer more job opportunities by expanding employment.
Gür expressed that they aim to grow the production area and reach a more modern production infrastructure. He emphasized that they will focus on automation, stating, "At the same time, we aim to establish a strong infrastructure that provides job opportunities for more people by increasing employment in parallel with our growing production structure. Our goal is to ensure permanent leadership in the sector with a larger factory, more modern production technology, and a broader employment staff."
