In Istanbul Ataşehir, a driver who got out of his car, which he had pulled over to the emergency lane to retrieve something from the trunk, was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction and became trapped between the two cars, resulting in his death.
On the D-100 highway in Ataşehir, the driver M.Y., who got out of his car parked on the emergency lane, was hit by another vehicle traveling in the same direction. The driver, who was trapped between the two vehicles, lost his life at the scene of the accident.
GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE TO GET ITEMS FROM THE TRUNK
The accident occurred around 02:00 at the Kozyatağı Junction on the D-100 highway. The driver M.Y. of the vehicle with license plate 33 UP 242, got out of his car parked on the emergency lane to get something from the trunk.
TRAPPED BETWEEN 2 VEHICLES, HE LOST HIS LIFE
At that moment, the vehicle with license plate 34 FK 7777, driven by H.A., hit M.Y. Due to the impact, M.Y. was trapped between the two vehicles. Upon the notification of the surrounding people, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. It was determined during the medical team's examination that M.Y. had lost his life.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED
After the scene investigation, M.Y.'s body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution morgue for autopsy. The road, which was closed to traffic for a while due to the accident, was opened to traffic after the vehicles were removed by a tow truck.
The police have launched an investigation into the accident.
