A 77-year-old man named Musa Uygun, who had been missing for 9 days in Sivas, was found dead in a stream bed located 3 kilometers away from his village.
Musa Uygun (77), who went missing after leaving his home in Sivas and had not been heard from for 9 days, was found dead in the field.
Musa Uygun, who lived alone in the village of Yenikervansaray, left his home on November 14 to go to Sivas. In the evening hours, Uygun returned home by village minibus, and allegedly got off the minibus at the village road junction. It was learned that Uygun tried to walk the approximately 2-kilometer distance under snowfall, and he could not be reached again.
FOUND DEAD IN THE STREAM BED
Upon villagers' notification, AFAD and search and rescue teams began search operations in the field. Due to heavy snowfall and fog, Uygun, who was thought to be lost in the field, was found dead by the Ministry of National Education Search and Rescue team in the stream bed in the Elmalı area of Armutlu village, 3 kilometers away from his own village, on the 9th day of the search efforts.
Uygun's lifeless body was placed in the morgue of Sivas Cumhuriyet University Medical Faculty Hospital for autopsy. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
