The equestrian trainer Semanur Arslan (27), who fell from the 43rd floor in Ankara and lost her life, had her mobile phone examined. It was learned that Semanur told her friends that she had been threatened and followed before her death. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. FELL FROM THE 43RD FLOOREquestrian trainer Semanur Arslan went to the apartment in the skyscraper in the Konutkent neighborhood of Çankaya district on the evening of October 20, where her friends Ferhat D. (43) and Ezgi Ö. (31) were present. According to allegations, Semanur fell to the ground from the window of the apartment on the 43rd floor and lost her life after a while. Ferhat D., the homeowner, and Ezgi Ö., who were taken into custody regarding the incident, were released after their statements. Ferhat D. claimed in his statement that he did not know Semanur Arslan, that they were in another room during the incident, and that they did not see her when they went outside. Ezgi Ö. alleged that Arslan had problems with her boyfriend and was constantly crying. "NOT A PERSON WHO WOULD DEFINITELY COMMIT SUICIDE"In the investigation regarding Semanur Arslan's death, her mobile phone was examined. In addition to the report on the mobile phone examination, evidence related to her death is also expected to be obtained from the autopsy report and toxicology report. The family's lawyer, Can Lafçı, stated that Semanur went to the skyscraper on the day of the incident and used the following expressions: "In our opinion, this incident is not a simple accident or suicide. We definitely think it is murder. Of course, we currently do not have concrete evidence; however, we have conducted some research regarding her character through her interactions with her surroundings, her brother, and her friends. She is definitely not a person who would commit suicide. "SHE TOLD HER BROTHER SHE WAS BEING FOLLOWED BEFORE HER DEATH"There is information that she made a taxi call shortly before her death. Semanur's phone has not yet been unlocked. When the police unlock the phone, it is likely that these phone calls will also come to light. If such a situation is detected, it is known that a person who is going to commit suicide would not call a taxi. Most importantly, shortly before her death, she told her brother that she was being followed, that she was scared, and that she was being threatened, naming some people. Since the investigation is currently confidential, we cannot disclose the names of those people; however, they are being monitored by the prosecutor's office. "SHE WEARS A HOODIE TO AVOID BEING RECOGNIZED WHILE WALKING OUTSIDE"She also says that she was threatened by a very close friend. In fact, she wears her hoodie while walking outside to avoid being recognized. The likelihood of a woman with such a fear of being followed committing suicide is very low. It is likely that this is a murder situation stemming from the threats and stalking she experienced. Both we and the law enforcement agencies are doing everything we can to uncover this," he said. "A CHEERFUL, FULL OF LIFE PERSON"Lawyer Lafçı, who stated that he spoke with Semanur's surroundings and the students she trained in equestrianism, said, "Based on my professional experience, I conclude that Semanur was a victim of murder; because she is not a person with the psychology of someone who would commit suicide. She is quite cheerful, full of life, loves horses and animals very much, and has a very good relationship with her students and other friends. In fact, we received feedback that she was a very cheerful person in her recent conversations with her friends. People who are going to commit suicide or are fed up with life generally do not make such plans. A different profile emerges. Here, Semanur does not have such a situation. She is definitely a person who will continue to live and has plans for the future. It is not expected for such a person to commit suicide," he said. "HER PHONE HAS NOT YET BEEN UNLOCKED"Lafçı stated that the investigation is ongoing, saying, "The investigation is very new right now. Existing evidence has been collected, statements have been taken; however, Semanur's autopsy report and toxicology report have not yet arrived. Her phone has not yet been unlocked either. When these phone examinations are conducted, clearer evidence will emerge. I hope we reach the evidence and see together what happened to Semanur," he said.
