A woman who allegedly was intoxicated entered the E-5 highway in Istanbul's Büyükçekmece district and jumped in front of vehicles during heavy morning traffic, risking disaster. Causing difficult moments for drivers, the woman was removed from the road by police intervention.
The E-5 highway, one of Istanbul's busiest main arteries, witnessed both dangerous and interesting moments during the morning hours. In the incident that occurred at the Büyükçekmece location, traffic safety was seriously endangered.
HEART-STOPPING MOMENTS ON THE E-5
According to the information obtained, an unidentified woman, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, suddenly dashed onto the E-5 highway in the Büyükçekmece area during the morning hours. Jumping in front of fast-moving vehicles, the woman invited disaster, disregarding both her own life and the lives of the drivers.
SHE STOPPED DRIVERS AND TRIED TO TALK
Drivers traveling on the highway narrowly escaped great danger by slamming on their brakes to avoid hitting the woman who jumped onto the road. Those mind-boggling moments were recorded second by second on a mobile phone camera by a nearby citizen. In the footage, the woman is seen making dangerous maneuvers on the road and approaching some vehicles that had slowed down or were forced to stop, trying to talk to the drivers.
POLICE TEAMS PREVENTED DISASTER
Following the incident, which disrupted traffic flow and caused panic among drivers, citizens quickly reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, police teams dispatched to the scene in a short time intervened with the woman who was disrupting traffic and removed her from the highway.
