According to information obtained, public order teams patrolling on Atatürk Boulevard issued a 'stop' warning to a minibus with license plate 33 traveling at high speed. The driver, not complying with the warning, stepped on the gas and began to flee by increasing his speed. A chase ensued between the police and the suspect for a while, and those moments were also captured on camera.
290 THOUSAND LIRA FINE
As a result of the breath-taking chase, police teams cut off the vehicle and caught it. E.G. (18), who was taken out of the vehicle, underwent an identity check, and it was determined during the young man's interrogation that he did not have a driver's license. Thereupon, traffic teams arriving at the scene issued the driver a total fine of 290 thousand lira for many violations such as driving without a license, not complying with the 'stop' warning, and endangering traffic.
HE CRIED UPON HEARING THE AMOUNT
Upon hearing the fine amount, the young driver cried, saying, "How am I supposed to pay? Don't you have any mercy at all?" The driver also reacted to the press members filming him. The vehicle was banned from traffic for 60 days and was towed to a parking lot by a tow truck.
