U.S. President Donald Trump gave a notable response to a question regarding the Epstein documents, in which his name was mentioned multiple times. Trump stated, "I have nothing to hide. I am exonerated. I have no connection to Jeffrey Epstein. I am completely exonerated in the Epstein matter."
US President Donald Trump answered questions from journalists on the plane while returning to Washington from his vacation in Florida. Trump, who made evaluations regarding the agenda, was asked about his name being mentioned numerous times in the Jeffrey Epstein files.
"I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE"
Regarding the documents in question, Trump stated, "I have nothing to hide. I am exonerated. I have no connection to Jeffrey Epstein. I am completely exonerated regarding Epstein." The statement made after the Epstein files began to be discussed in the public again resonated in US politics.
PAST CONTACT ALLEGATIONS WITH EPSTEIN
Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in 2019 on charges of sexual abuse of underage girls and human trafficking, and shortly after, he died in prison. His death and the names in the case were discussed in public for a long time.
It is known that Trump and Epstein were seen together at some social events in Florida and New York in the 1990s and early 2000s. In previous statements, Trump had said that he "knew Epstein but cut ties with him years ago." In an evaluation he made in 2019, he expressed that he had not met with Epstein for a long time and that he was "not a fan of his." Although some court documents in the US media mentioned Trump's name, it was reported that this did not imply any criminal accusation; it was also noted that many well-known names were included in the documents that were made public.
POLITICAL DEBATES FLARED UP AGAIN
After some of the Epstein documents were released to the public by court order, discussions regarding the case resurfaced in both Democratic and Republican circles. Trump's latest statement came amid these discussions.
