In Gaziantep, a man named İbrahim Halil Caymaz stabbed and killed his ex-wife, whom he divorced 8 months ago, in front of their two children. Caymaz, who also injured himself with the same knife, was taken to the hospital, while the lifeless body of the young woman was sent to Kayseri after the autopsy procedures.

KILLED HIS EX-WIFE IN FRONT OF THEIR CHILDREN İbrahim Halil Caymaz (32) went to the house of his ex-wife Şerife Gelmeli in Eyüpsultan District under the pretext of reconciliation, after they divorced about 8 months ago due to severe incompatibility. İbrahim Halil Caymaz, who also had a restraining order against him, stabbed his ex-wife in front of their 2 children and then injured himself with the same knife.
Hearing the commotion, the neighbors reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon the notification. While it was determined that Şerife Gelmeli had lost her life, the injured İbrahim Halil Caymaz was taken to Şehitkamil State Hospital. Gelmeli's lifeless body was taken to the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.

19 FEMICIDES OCCURRED ONLY IN OCTOBER According to the data of the We Will Stop Femicide Platform for October, 19 femicides occurred in just one month, and 22 women were found dead under suspicious circumstances.
Of the 19 women killed in October, 7 were killed by their husbands, 6 by their ex-husbands, 2 by someone they knew, 1 by a former partner, 1 by a current partner, 1 by a relative, and 1 by a stalker. In this month, 37% of the women were killed by their husbands.
THE REASONS FOR THE MURDER OF 11 WOMEN COULD NOT BE DETERMINED Of the 19 women killed, 7 were killed under the pretext of wanting a divorce, refusing reconciliation, refusing marriage, or rejecting a relationship. One was killed due to deficiencies in her daughter's henna ceremony. The reasons for the murder of 11 women could not be determined.
