"HE WAS THREATENING ME LIKE 'I WILL KILL YOU'"

Zeynep Y., who experienced the horror, said, "While I was breastfeeding my daughter, my husband went into a rage and suddenly started to assault me. He went to the kitchen and got a knife. At that moment, I ran to my mother-in-law's house. He came after me and stabbed me twice in the back. I have been subjected to violence from him many times. Each time he would threaten me, saying, 'I will take the children from you, I will kill you.' I was enduring it for my children." she stated.

"WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF MY NAME IS HEARD AFTER I'M KILLED?"

Zeynep Y., a mother of two, said, "There were days when he would put me out in front of the door. I don't want to be one of the murdered women. What will happen if my name is heard after I'm killed? My children are in their hands. I have a 4-month-old baby, and I need to breastfeed him. My 3-year-old son cannot do without me. I want that monster to be arrested as soon as possible and to serve his sentence." she expressed.

"HE WAS GETTING ANGRY EVEN AT MY BABY'S CRYING"

Zeynep Y. expressed her concerns for her and her children's lives, stating, "He was released because it wasn't a life-threatening injury. I was stabbed in the back; did I have to die? Isn't it enough reason for him to stab me? Right now, he could come to my door with a gun and kill me. He used drugs on the night of the day he stabbed me. In the morning, he became active again. He kept saying, 'I will kill you.' He was also beating my son. He was getting angry even at my baby's crying. My children's lives are in danger; I want them to be with me. One is 4 months old, and I need to breastfeed him. The other is 3 years old and dependent on me. We obtained restraining orders twice because he beat me. Most recently, he forcibly took me to the courthouse and threatened me to withdraw the restraining orders. After the last incident, we obtained a restraining order for the third time," she said.

"WE ARE ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE CHILDREN'S LIVES"

Zeynep Y.'s lawyer, Şükrü İnci, stated, "While my client was breastfeeding her baby, her husband went into a fit of rage and stabbed her twice in the back in front of their children. However, he was released under judicial control at the courthouse. My client has been subjected to both physical and psychological violence many times since the beginning of her marriage. The children are also victims of this violence. After the incident, the children are being taken away by her husband's family, and we currently have no news from them. They are making statements to the police that they have returned the children, but that is not the case. What is sad for us is that this person was released under judicial control. My client currently does not have safety. We have also appealed the judicial control decision. We are concerned about the children's lives as well," he said.
