In Ortaköy, a mother stabbed the father of a child she claimed had been abusing her daughter at a meeting place where she had called him to talk. The man, while injured, also assaulted the woman. The attacking woman was apprehended and arrested by the police. In her statement, she said that the child had harassed her daughter multiple times, and although she warned the father, she did not achieve any results.
On May 21, Wednesday, around 21:45, in the Ortaköy neighborhood of Beşiktaş, Istanbul, Derya U. (40) claimed that her 7-year-old daughter E.İ.U., who is in the first grade, was subjected to violence by a 6-year-old boy, a classmate. The mother warned the child's father, Şerif T. (46), by calling him. As the situation continued, Derya U. called Şerif T. to argue over the phone and invited him to the street where the incident occurred.
SHE STABBED THE BOY'S FATHER WHO ASSAULTED HER DAUGHTER
Seeing Şerif T. arriving on a motorcycle, Derya U. attacked him with a knife in her hand. After being stabbed multiple times, Şerif T. managed to take the knife from the woman and retaliated. As bystanders intervened, the woman distanced herself while severely injured Şerif T. was taken to Okmeydanı Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital by ambulance after the first intervention of the medical teams dispatched to the scene upon notification. The incident was captured on security cameras.
THE ATTACKER WAS CAUGHT AT HOME
After the incident, the Beşiktaş Public Order Bureau teams initiated an investigation and identified the woman. In ongoing efforts, Derya U. was caught at her home. It was revealed that the arrested woman had a record for "intentional injury" at the police.
ARRESTED FOR 'ATTEMPTED MURDER'
After completing her procedures at the police station, Derya U. was arrested by the court for the crime of "attempted murder" when she was brought to the courthouse.

Derya U. stated in her testimony that her daughter had been bullied and harassed multiple times by the son of Şerif T., who is in the same class, and that despite warning the father, she did not achieve any results. She mentioned that she argued over the phone and called him to the scene to talk.
