A thief who stole 199,760 lira from 15 different ATMs belonging to a bank in Istanbul was caught and arrested by the police operation. The theft incidents were captured by the ATM security cameras.
The suspect T.K. (36) was detained for stealing money 38 times using a screwdriver and similar tools from 15 separate ATMs in Istanbul. The moments of the theft were recorded by security cameras. The suspect was arrested and sent to prison.
TARGETED THE ATMs
An investigation was launched into the money theft incidents that occurred between April 21 and November 18 from ATMs in Istanbul. The investigation conducted by the Theft Bureau determined that the same person was responsible for 38 separate theft incidents at 15 different ATMs. During the incidents captured by security cameras, the person wearing a mask and a motorcycle helmet was seen using tools like a screwdriver to steal money from the ATM's deposit units.
As a result of the work carried out by the Theft Bureau, it was determined that the suspect was T.K., who had a previous police record. T.K. was detained in an operation carried out in Esenyurt. After completing the procedures at the Public Order Branch, T.K. was arrested and sent to prison by the court he was brought to.
