A scandal involving a fake prescription and a series of other issues has erupted under the leadership of a professor doctor at the Fisherman's Greek Hospital. In connection with the incident, which revealed that the Social Security Institution (SGK) suffered a loss of 112 million TL, detention orders were issued for 7 individuals, including the professor doctor, a medical secretary, 2 pharmacists, a pharmacy employee, and 2 pharmaceutical representatives.
A large-scale corruption operation, identified as being carried out through red and green prescription drugs at Balıklı Rum Hospital, has resulted in a public loss of 112 million TL. Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention orders were issued for Prof. Dr. A.E., medical secretary N.Ö., pharmacists Y.E. and A.H., pharmacy employee R.Ç., and drug representatives C.K. and E.Ç.
PROVISION OF MEDICATION WITH FAKE EXAMINATION AND PROTOCOL NUMBERS
According to the prosecutor's statement, between 2017 and 2021, under the leadership of a doctor working in the Child Psychiatry department of Balıklı Rum Hospital, some patients were shown as examined without being registered in the Medula system. It was determined that fake protocols were created using the information of individuals who had never visited the hospital, resulting in the issuance of tens of thousands of red and green prescription drugs, which were then billed to SGK.
It was also found that irregular transactions continued through records opened in different locations without patient consent, even during periods when the Social Security Institution did not provide authorization.
SOME OF THE MEDICATIONS HAVE BEEN SMUGGLED ABROAD
The investigation revealed that red prescription drugs and narcotic medications obtained through prescriptions were attempted to be illegally transported to individuals and countries outside of Turkey. Additionally, it was stated that the medications were sold to foreign nationals for use in the production of narcotic chemicals.
112 MILLION TL PILL SCANDAL
The prosecutor's statement emphasized that the medications used off the record caused a public loss exceeding 112 million TL in total. It was reported that an investigation is ongoing against the suspects for the crimes of "Forgery of Official Documents by a Public Official in a Chain Manner," "Fraud to the Detriment of Public Institutions and Organizations," and "Illegal Disclosure and Acquisition of Data."
The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office highlighted that the operation is continuing in a multifaceted manner and provided information to the public.
