At the Erciyes Ski Resort, a skier attempting to jump from the chairlift to retrieve his fallen snowboard got stuck after his jacket got caught on the chairlift support. It was announced that the skier's health condition is good.
In one of Turkey's important winter tourism centers, Erciyes Ski Resort, A.C. got stuck on the chairlift while trying to jump to retrieve his fallen snowboard. A.C. managed to escape by jumping onto the mat placed below.
The incident occurred on the Hisarcık Gate slope of Erciyes Ski Resort. A.C., who boarded the chairlift to ski, dropped his snowboard after a while.
STUCK WHILE TRYING TO RETRIEVE HIS FALLEN SNOWBOARD
Wanting to retrieve his snowboard, A.C. attempted to jump by leaning out of the chairlift. During the jump, A.C. got stuck when his jacket caught on the chairlift's footrest. Meanwhile, the teams who noticed the incident stopped the chairlift. After hanging for a while on the chairlift, A.C. then let himself fall onto the mat opened by the teams. It was learned that A.C.'s health condition is good.
STATEMENT FROM THE METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY
In a statement made by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Erciyes A.Ş. regarding the issue, it was stated, "There have been misleading posts on social media platforms claiming that a skier fell from the cable car at Erciyes Ski Resort. It has been deemed necessary to make the following statement to properly inform the public. In the incident in question, the skier did not fall from the cable car as alleged. The skier attempted to jump down from the cable car to retrieve his fallen snowboard; he got stuck due to his jacket getting caught on the chairlift's footrest during the jump.
Upon noticing the situation, the facility was immediately stopped by our staff; the teams quickly arrived at the scene and rescued the skier without incident. Our guest's health condition is good. However, due to the skier's actions that endangered both his own safety and the operation of the facility, as well as causing panic among other guests, necessary complaints have been made by Kayseri Erciyes A.Ş. and legal processes have been initiated. The safety of our guests at Erciyes Ski Resort is always our top priority. We kindly request all our visitors to strictly adhere to the facility rules and the warnings of the staff."
