Metin Gökmen, who underwent surgery after doctors at a private hospital in Isparta, where he went due to complaints of back pain, told him that he needed surgery, learned the truth from his doctor when his complaints did not go away. Gökmen, who had 8 plates inserted during the first surgery, underwent a second surgery at the same hospital, where his doctor said, 'We removed the plates because your body did not accept them,' but he still did not regain his health after this operation. Gökmen filed a complaint against the doctors who operated on him, stating that plates were inserted without his consent. No statement has yet been made by the hospital regarding the issue. Metin Gökmen, a father of three who farms in the Aksu district, went to a private hospital in Isparta when the pain in his back did not go away. Here, after being examined by Op. Dr. Okan G., Gökmen decided to have surgery when the doctor told him that the pain in his back was due to the nervous system and that he needed surgery. On January 18, during the operation performed by brain and nerve surgeons Op. Dr. Okan G. and Op. Dr. Ümit D., it was claimed that 8 plates were inserted into Gökmen's body without informing him. IT WAS SAID THAT HIS BODY DID NOT ACCEPT THE PLATESGökmen, who felt severe pain in his right foot after the surgery and could not walk, underwent another surgery at the same hospital on January 22. After the surgery, the 8 plates in Metin Gökmen's body were removed. After the operation, when Op. Dr. Okan G. said that his body did not accept the plates, Gökmen learned that plates had been inserted into him without his consent. Metin Gökmen filed a complaint with the Isparta Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the doctors Okan G. and Ümit D., who he stated had inserted plates into his body without his consent. After the second surgery, Gökmen, who still could not walk, underwent surgery at a private hospital in Döşemealtı, Antalya, on January 29. Gökmen, whose complaints continued after this surgery, began to walk after the operation he underwent on February 5 at Akdeniz University Hospital. Tests conducted at Akdeniz University Hospital revealed that Gökmen had contracted the Hepatitis B virus. "I BECAME FIFTY PERCENT DISABLED"Metin Gökmen said, "I was not informed that plates would be inserted. We had the second surgery, and the doctor showed me the plates. I asked, 'What is this, doctor?' He said, 'Your body did not accept the plates.' Six days later, my foot started to hurt again. I asked, 'What will happen, doctor?' He said, 'Your tissues have been subjected to pressure.' He convinced me to have the third surgery. I had this operation at another hospital. I consulted with a professor from Akdeniz University, and we requested my transfer there," he said. Gökmen stated that his fourth surgery was at Akdeniz University Hospital, saying, "As a result of the tests conducted there, I learned that I had contracted the Hepatitis B virus. Due to the virus, I could not have surgery for a week because it was said that I was given a high level of anesthesia. The pain was already due to this. I had surgery again, and my chances of walking were very low. I am walking now, albeit with difficulty, but I have become fifty percent disabled," he said. Metin Gökmen, who stated that his wife even helps him put on his socks, said, "The prosecutor's office accepted the complaint, and an investigation has begun. I will do everything I can to ensure that the Ministry of Health inspects this hospital; I have all my documents, and I am keeping all the plates they inserted." No statement has yet been made by the hospital regarding the issue.
