After the match between the Turkish National Football Team and Spain, the watch and rings worth 150,000 euros that belonged to Merih Demiral, which had gone missing, were found as a result of the investigations. The Spanish police have launched an investigation into the incident.
The Turkish National Football Team's player Merih Demiral's two rings and a watch, valued at 150,000 euros, which were either forgotten or presumed stolen after the match against Spain in Seville in the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers Group E, have been reported found.
IT HAD GONE MISSING AFTER THE MATCH
According to information obtained by AA correspondent from Seville police sources, after the 2-2 draw in the Spain-Turkey match, Merih Demiral realized that he was missing a watch and two rings as the National Team headed to the airport, prompting officials from the Turkish Football Federation to immediately contact the security team of the Spanish Football Federation.
After searches in the Turkish National Team's locker room at La Cartuja Stadium did not yield the watch and rings, Merih Demiral filed a complaint with the Spanish police through his lawyer. Following this initiative, it was recorded that the valuable items were found within a few hours through cooperation with the stadium's private security personnel.
Officials stated that the watch is estimated to be worth 90,000 euros and the rings, one of which is presumed to be a wedding ring, are valued at 60,000 euros, and they expressed that these items would be returned to the national football player after the legal procedures are completed.
The Spanish National Police, which has suspicions that the incident may be a theft, announced that the investigation is ongoing to identify possible perpetrators, determine exactly how the theft occurred, and identify the responsible parties.
