Ece Asude Ekiz, a 23-year-old who started boxing 9 years ago in Sakarya to lose weight, has achieved 7 Turkish championships and one European championship in her career. The national boxer is currently continuing her training to compete in the 2028 Olympics.
Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club athlete Ece Asude Ekiz stands out with her disciplined training in her 9-year journey in boxing. Starting boxing with the aim of losing weight, Ece Asude Ekiz has achieved many successes and has become an example for many young people.
HAS WON MORE THAN 20 MEDALS
Putting on gloves at the age of 14 and continuing her preparations under the guidance of her coach Muhammet Ali Keskin, Ekiz has won more than 20 medals to date. The young athlete, who has worn the national jersey 11 times, set her sights on the Olympics, the world's largest sports organization, after winning the European Championship trophy in 2019.
'I STARTED WITH THE GOAL OF LOSING WEIGHT'
Describing her journey into boxing and her goals, Ece Asude Ekiz said, "I started boxing 9 years ago with the goal of losing weight. At the point I have reached today, I have stepped into the ring more than 100 times. In 2019, I had the honor of having our National Anthem sung as the European Champion. This is an indescribable pride. My biggest goal now is to participate in the 2028 Olympics and wave our flag there," she said.
