While the defendants' testimonies continue in the "Newborn Gang" case, Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu responded to the opposition's calls for resignation. Memişoğlu said, "Why should someone who prevents the death of our babies be asked to resign?" Memişoğlu was protested in the Turkish Grand National Assembly with placards reading "Health Minister Resign," along with baby booties and baby clothes.
While the trial regarding the newborn gang continues, CHP and other opposition deputies had demanded the resignation of Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu.
During the budget discussions of the Ministry of Health in the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission, opposition party deputies greeted Health Minister Memişoğlu, who was the Istanbul Provincial Health Director at the time, with a banner that read "Health Minister resign."
CALL FOR RESIGNATION FROM CHP
In front of CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba, there were baby booties and baby clothes. CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba stated, "These children died before they could reunite with their mothers; they died before they could wear these booties."
FIRST RESPONSE FROM MEMİŞOĞLU
Health Minister Memişoğlu responded to the calls for resignation by saying, "Why should someone who prevents the death of our babies be asked to resign? Is it because we caught these people?"
