Memişoğlu said, "Why should someone who prevents the death of our babies be asked to resign?" Memişoğlu was protested in the Turkish Grand National Assembly with placards reading "Health Minister Resign," along with baby booties and baby clothes.

While the trial regarding the newborn gang continues, CHP and other opposition deputies had demanded the resignation of Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu.

During the budget discussions of the Ministry of Health in the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission, opposition party deputies greeted Health Minister Memişoğlu, who was the Istanbul Provincial Health Director at the time, with a banner that read "Health Minister resign."
