In the Foça district of İzmir, heavy rainfall caused rivers to overflow and flooded some homes and businesses. The muddy water flowing from the rivers into the sea changed the color of the sea.
Heavy rain negatively affected life in the Foça district of İzmir. Streams overflowed, and some houses and workplaces were flooded. The color of the sea turned brown due to the muddy water flowing from the streams. Heavy rain was effective in the early hours of the day in the Foça district. The Şavklı and Sıcak streams in the Yenifoça Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood overflowed due to the flood caused by the rainfall. The debris and tree branches that came with the flood caused blockages at the previously rehabilitated transition points in the stream bed. As a result of the flooding, streets and low gardens were filled with water, and the ground floors of some houses and workplaces were flooded. The flood was also effective in the bays and the Sazlıca area.
A DRIVER WAS TRAPPED IN HIS VEHICLE
In Sazlıca, driver Veysel Kerimoğlu was trapped in his car. Kerimoğlu, who reported the situation to the teams, managed to get out of the car by his own means. His house was also flooded. Teams started working to drain the water. On the other hand, the muddy water flowing from the streams into the sea due to the heavy rain caused a color change in the sea. The color of the sea turned brown. It was reported that the heavy rain in the district had decreased but continued intermittently. AFAD, fire department, and municipal teams are continuing their work in the area.
