A warning has been issued regarding the "jet imams" that have come to the forefront due to the long tarawih prayers during the month of Ramadan. Denizli Mufti Abdullah Pamuklu stated that the rapid recitation of verses and the quick performance of bowing and prostration make it difficult to enjoy the worship, saying, "For this reason, we do not recommend jet imams or jet imamat."

Denizli Mufti Abdullah Pamuklu has a warning for 'jet imams' who perform Tarawih prayers quickly.

Mufti Pamuklu stated, "Ramadan is a climate of the Quran. It is the month when the five fundamental pillars of Islam are most intensely experienced. During this month, we pay more attention to what we eat and drink. More importantly, we try to be aware of the poor and needy. Ramadan should not be seen as just fasting and Tarawih. We need to see its social, communal aspects, as well as its individual, worship, and Quranic connections. Additionally, the joy we derive from Quran gatherings has a special place. We also have the opportunity to strengthen our friendships by inviting people we haven't seen throughout the year to iftar tables or by visiting them during Ramadan. One should derive pleasure from worship. It would be meaningless to expect rewards from an empty worship," he said.

"IT SHOULD BE PERFORMED ACCORDING TO THE PROPER METHOD"

Addressing the issue of jet imams that has come to the forefront during the month of Ramadan, Denizli Mufti Abdullah Pamuklu said, "When you read the Quran with understanding and perform every movement with mindfulness, you derive more spiritual pleasure. When Tarawih is performed quickly during Ramadan, it ends quickly, which appeals to the youth, but the pleasure and enjoyment expected from the prayer cannot be attained. Therefore, we recommend that the prayer be performed in a manner more suitable to its method and etiquette. In truth, one should feel it in both the bowing and prostration, as well as in the positions in between, to the extent that the heart reaches a state of satisfaction. The proper performance of the prayer is particularly relevant in bowing, standing, prostration, and sitting. According to the strong view in the Hanafi school, proper performance is obligatory in the four mentioned places. According to some other schools and Imam Abu Yusuf from the Hanafis, proper performance is considered mandatory. Therefore, we do not recommend jet imams and jet imamat," he expressed.
