MHP TO PEKER: THANK YOU
MHP Deputy Chairman İzzet Ulvi Yönter recently shared the news on his social media account that "Peker provided assistance of 1 million 800 thousand TL for the stem cell treatment and subsequent care expenses of special operations police officer Ömer Korkmaz, who became paralyzed and retired," and commented, "Thank you... I wish healing for our Special Operations Police..." Peker also retweeted Yönter's message.
RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION "HAS THE ICE MELTED?"
Halk TV writer İsmail Saymaz reported that he reached out to Sedat Peker regarding these developments and asked, "There was a coldness between you and the MHP. Can we say the ice has melted?" According to Saymaz, Sedat Peker gave the following responses:
"I only had a problem with Şefkat Çetin in the MHP. That was 25 years ago. Until today, I have never used any disrespectful words regarding Mr. Bahçeli. The state brother is the leader of the nationalist movement, sitting in the seat of Başbuğ Türkeş. On this occasion, I wish him healing from God. Yönter is someone respected by nationalists. The whole of Turkey knows that he has a political stance. He proved this with the share he made. He valued my contribution regarding the treatment of our special operations police and made a share to ensure it is known to the public."
"IT'S EARLY FOR ME TO RETURN TO TURKEY"
Responding to the highly anticipated question, "Will you return to Turkey?" Peker said, "I think it is early for me to return to Turkey. Whenever my lawyers try to work on my return, prepare a petition, interestingly, this situation is learned by Gülenist journalists, and they provoke the process by associating my name with imaginary violent incidents."
