In the investigation reopened years later regarding the death of Ahmet Yılmaz, nicknamed "Kirpi Ahmet," who disappeared in Zonguldak in 2008 and whose bones were found on the shore of Ulutan Dam in 2010, a striking development occurred. Emircan İ., who was tried on charges of being the instigator of the murder and was placed under house arrest, was caught in an operation about 2 months after he fled by breaking his electronic ankle bracelet.
The defendant who fled in the "Kirpi Ahmet" murder case, which drew attention as one of the long-unsolved files in Zonguldak after being reopened 16 years later, has been caught. It was reported that Emircan İ., who was tried on charges of inciting the murder, had fled by breaking his electronic ankle bracelet while under house arrest.
After approximately 2 months of efforts by police teams, İleri was captured and taken into custody in an operation.
BONES FOUND ON THE SHORES OF THE DAM
The incident dates back to 2008. Ahmet Yılmaz, a married father of 5 children, was reported missing in 2008.
On December 9, 2010, after the waters receded at Ulutan Dam, a fisherman in the area encountered human bones on the dam shore. Following examinations on the bones, a DNA test conducted in 2012 revealed that the remains belonged to Ahmet Yılmaz, nicknamed "Kirpi."
However, since it was assessed that there were insufficient indications that Yılmaz had been killed in the examinations conducted at that time, a decision of non-prosecution was issued for the file in 2012.
STATEMENT THAT CAME YEARS LATER REOPENED THE FILE
The turning point in the murder file occurred years later. Based on the statement given by Hüseyin P., who was sentenced in the criminal organization case with 32 defendants where Emircan İ. was tried as the alleged leader but acquitted, Ahmet Yılmaz's death was re-examined.
After the annulment of the non-prosecution decision, police teams launched a comprehensive investigation.
In the investigation conducted, it was alleged that Emircan İ., Tarık Yolcu, Köksal Aktaş, and Baycan İ. attempted to conceal the murder for many years.
STRIKING MURDER DETAIL IN THE INDICTMENT
In the indictment prepared by the Zonguldak Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was alleged that Ahmet Yılmaz was strangled to death in an automobile.
According to the indictment, Yılmaz's lifeless body was first placed in a sack and left in a disused mine. It was then alleged that the body was thrown into Ulutan Dam.
A lawsuit was filed against Tarık Yolcu, Köksal Aktaş, and İlker Eren for "intentional killing in participation," and against Emircan İ. for incitement to murder.
It was determined that Baycan İ. died in 2017 due to leukemia.
BROKE THE ELECTRONIC ANKLE BRACELET AND ESCAPED
Within the scope of the file, İlker E.K. was arrested in 2025 and later released. In February 2026, Tarık Y. and Köksal A. were arrested, while it was decided to impose house arrest on Emircan İ.
While the trial was ongoing at the Zonguldak 1st Heavy Penal Court, it was stated that İ. had escaped by breaking his electronic ankle bracelet approximately 2 months ago.
Teams that launched efforts to capture him took İ. into custody in an operation. Procedures were initiated against the individual, who was referred to the courthouse, within the scope of the charges of "violating house arrest" and "damaging property." His procedures at the courthouse are ongoing.
