WENT MISSING, HORROR REVEALED DAYS LATER
Eber, a 51-year-old divorced father of two, was last heard from after leaving his Airbnb accommodation in Bogota on the evening of April 21. Following a missing person report filed by his family, search efforts led to a horrifying discovery days later. According to local sources, the dismembered body found inside a blood-stained wardrobe abandoned on a roadside was identified as Eber's.
"HAD GONE FOR A NEW LIFE"
It was learned that Eber, who lived in Brooklyn, had gone to Colombia to start a new marriage. His close friend Motti Dresdner said, "He was in the best period of his life. He wanted to remarry and build a happy life. Ending his life this way is a great tragedy."
SUSPICION FOCUSES ON GANG INVOLVEMENT
While the Bogota police have not reached a clear conclusion on the motive for the murder, it is believed that Eber may have fallen victim to criminal gangs targeting tourists. The possibility of robbery is also among the lines of investigation being considered.
FUNERAL TO BE SENT TO ISRAEL
It was reported that Eber's family has taken steps to have the body taken to Israel for burial. The family is said to be pressuring Colombian authorities to forgo an autopsy due to their religious beliefs.
