Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif signed a "Joint Strategic Defense Agreement" following their meeting in Riyadh. According to the agreement, an attack on one of the countries will be considered an attack against both nations.
According to the official Saudi news agency SPA, Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif, who is visiting the country, met with Bin Salman at the Yemame Palace in the capital Riyadh. In the official meeting attended by delegations, the historical and strategic relations between the two countries and a number of areas for joint cooperation were reviewed.
JOINT STRATEGIC DEFENSE AGREEMENT SIGNED
Following the talks, Bin Salman and Prime Minister Sharif signed a "Joint Strategic Defense Agreement" within the framework of efforts to enhance the security of both countries and to ensure security and peace in the region and the world.
ANY ATTACK ON ONE OF THE COUNTRIES WILL BE CONSIDERED AN ATTACK ON BOTH
It was stated that the signed agreement aims to enhance defense cooperation between the two countries and to increase joint deterrence against any attack. According to the agreement, any attack directed at one of the parties will be considered an attack on both countries.
IF ISRAEL ATTACKS SAUDI ARABIA...
This means that if India attacks Pakistan, Saudi Arabia will consider it an attack against itself. Or if Israel attacks Saudi Arabia, Pakistan will consider it an attack against itself.
RECENT REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS WERE ALSO DISCUSSED
SPA reported that Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in the capital this morning, but did not provide information on the duration of the visit. Meanwhile, the official Pakistani news agency Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) noted that recent regional developments were also discussed in the meeting, where cooperation between the two brother countries and the possibilities for its enhancement were addressed.
