Hitting Record High, Turkish Stock Exchange Up At Close

Benchmark BIST 100 index earns 27 points at Friday's close.

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed the week on Friday at 9,374.20 points, a historic high closing level, up 0.29% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, which started the day at 9,361.76 points, gained 27.03 points from Thursday's close.

The lowest value of the index of the day was 9,294.01, while its daily high was 9,416.70 – an all-time high.

Some 47 indices rose in value as of the end of the day, while 51 dropped.

The total transaction volume reached 137 billion Turkish liras ($4.41 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8 trillion liras ($258.7 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 31.0670 as of 19.20 pm (1620GMT), while the EUR/TRY rate was at 33.3520 and the GBP/TRY traded at 39.3530.

One ounce of gold was at $2,041.95, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $82.30. -
