While going downhill in Beykoz, a truck loaded with wood that lost control first hit a parked car and then crashed into two tourists passing by, entering an empty shop at the entrance of a building. In the tragic accident, the truck driver and one tourist lost their lives, while another tourist was seriously injured.
WENT DOWNHILL, CAUSED DEATH
The accident occurred around 14:50 in the Mirşah Hamam Street of Anadolu Kavağı Neighborhood. According to reports, the brakes of the truck with license plate 34 DH 9369, driven by Emet Tüfenk (27), failed while going downhill. The driver lost control of the massive vehicle, which sped forward, first hitting a parked car and then crashing into a group of tourists walking on the street.
CRASHED INTO THE SHOP
The truck that ran over the tourists was only able to stop by crashing into an empty shop on the ground floor of a two-story building. As the scene turned into a battlefield, a large number of firefighters, AFAD, UMKE, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. In the initial examination by the medical teams, it was determined that the driver Emet Tüfenk, who was trapped inside the truck, had died at the scene.
SAD NEWS CAME FROM THE HOSPITAL
The Dutch tourist Wiebe Wermer (28), who was seriously injured in the accident, could not be saved despite all the interventions at the hospital and lost his life. The treatment of the injured Italian national Illaria Carroza is ongoing at the hospital.

Witnesses stated that the truck came down the hill with a loud noise and dragged everything in its path. While police teams are examining the surrounding security cameras to determine the exact cause of the accident, the wreckage of the truck and the damage in the shop were captured from the air.
