"IF THERE IS PAIN DUE TO CERVICAL HERNIA, IT RADIATES FROM THE SHOULDER BLADE TO THE ARM"

Professor Doctor Orhan Şen stated that heart attack pain is often mistaken for cervical hernia pain, saying, "If it is really caused by cervical hernia, it radiates from the shoulder blade. It does not come from the shoulder blade connected to the heart, it comes from the chest, around the shoulder level, towards the arm. In cervical hernia, there is always a constant pain whether the patient exerts effort or not, but in a heart attack, the pain increases proportionally as the patient exerts effort."

"WE SHOULD NOT SIT IN THE SAME POSITION FOR HOURS"

Answering presenter Melis Yaşar's question "What do you recommend for back and neck health?", Şen said, "Everyone should check if they have a genetic predisposition and exercises should be done from childhood. It should start with swimming and continue with sports. We should not sit in the same position for hours. After 1.5-2 hours, we should get up and do exercises for the back, neck, and shoulders. We should walk for 15 minutes inside the room and avoid sudden and heavy movements."
