Last night, 3-month-pregnant Helin Eren was attacked with a gun by Siyabend Şeker, with whom she had lived together under a religious marriage and had separated, while walking with her cousin in the Çift Kapı area of the Sur district. Eren was hit by 9 bullets and lost her life in the hospital she was taken to.

Following the incident, Siyabend Şeker, who fled the scene, was captured and taken into custody as a result of the work carried out by the Homicide Bureau teams of the Public Order Branch Directorate. Helin Eren's funeral was buried in Çiftehavuzlar Cemetery after the autopsy procedures. Siyabend Şeker's procedures at the police station are ongoing.
