Former Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gökçek targeted Ekrem İmamoğlu by using an image of him smiling in front of a massive crowd in Saraçhane. Gökçek, who said, "Clearly, you must be very happy about your husband going inside. There seems to be a rift between you. You don't need to make it so obvious," deleted his post hastily after the backlash.
MÜCAHİT BİRİNCİ DELETED HIS POST AND APOLOGIZED AFTER BACKLASH
AK Party member Mücahit Birinci had received significant backlash for saying, "The happiest man in the world is Özgür Özel... The woman is Ekrem's precious wife... Listen to my words." After the reactions, Mücahit Birinci deleted his post and published an apology message.
Birinci stated in his explanation on X: "I couldn't accept the X I posted saying Ekrem İmamoğlu's wife is happy, so I deleted it. It was an approach regarding the possibility of his precious wife being a presidential candidate. I made a mistake. It is an area I should not have interfered in. It was wrong, and it was a post that exceeded its purpose. I sincerely apologize if I upset anyone."
