Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu responded to the remarks made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan targeting him. İmamoğlu said, "My advice to him is to show the same consistent toughness he has shown towards me, who has no immunity, to the U.S. President who said, 'Gaza will be U.S. territory'."
The Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Ekrem İmamoğlu, responded to the words of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who targeted him.
"MY ADVICE TO HIM; HE SHOULD SHOW THE SAME FIRMNESS HE SHOWS TOWARDS ME TO TRUMP AS WELL"
İmamoğlu stated in a social media post, "The President's only concern today has again been our actions." He continued his remarks as follows: "My advice to him is to show the same consistent firmness he demonstrates towards me, who has no immunity, to the U.S. President who said, 'Gaza will be U.S. territory.' You have not said a word about these bold statements for the Gaza you have claimed to protect for 2 years."
WHAT DID ERDOĞAN SAY?
Speaking at the 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress of the AK Party in Istanbul, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan criticized Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu by referring to the banners he saw on billboards, saying, "I saw billboards on my way here; they say they have equipped Istanbul with housing. What we could not achieve in 23 years, they have done in 5 years. Ekrem, prove these claims and see what Erdoğan is doing. Your dreams cannot even reach the places our actions have reached, Ekrem. Now, we will work with the same passion for service to elevate our country to higher levels in the world. As the AK Party and the People's Alliance, we will build the Century of Turkey together."
