Due to the storm that will be effective in Istanbul tomorrow, a warning has been issued for citizens weighing under 58 kilograms, stating that "You may have difficulty walking." According to the latest data, the sudden winds coming from the north, along with the storm, will cause a sudden drop in temperatures, and strong winds will create challenging moments for citizens.



Warnings have been issued in succession from the Meteorology, Istanbul Governorship, and AKOM for many provinces including Istanbul. A yellow code alert has been issued for 49 cities, including Istanbul, for tomorrow. Authorities have warned citizens about potential disasters and adverse conditions that may occur.

WARNING FOR UNDER 58 KILOS

Additionally, due to the effective lodos (southwest wind) in Istanbul and surrounding provinces tomorrow, a warning from Hava Forum stated that individuals weighing under 58 kilos are expected to have difficulty walking.

MANDAL EYE STORM WILL HIT ISTANBUL

According to data obtained from Windy Map, the Mandal Eye storm will hit Istanbul. In this weather event, which sailors have named the 'Mandal Eye Storm', strong sudden winds blowing from the north will intensify at a certain point. When the data is examined, the event is expected to concentrate around the Istanbul Strait around 11:00 AM on Saturday. It will continue to show its effects until 5:00 PM. Along with sudden winds, air temperatures will show a significant drop. Due to the strong winds, incidents of tree falls and roof blows may occur again, as experienced in the past.

AKOM WARNING FOR THE MARMARA REGION

In a statement from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Affairs Directorate (AKOM), it was noted that strong winds and heavy rainfall are expected in the Marmara Region starting from Thursday. While strong lodos and karayel (northwest wind) are expected along with heavy rainfall, it is predicted that air temperatures will drop suddenly by 8-10 degrees. According to the warning, low-pressure systems expected to come from the Central Mediterranean on Thursday, November 21, and Saturday, November 23, are anticipated to be effective throughout the Marmara Region, especially in Istanbul. During the frontal transitions in the system, the wind is expected to strengthen from the Lodos and Karayel directions, blowing as a storm and, with short bursts, as a strong storm (40-80 km/h), along with heavy rainfall (20-45 kg/m2) expected, while a sudden drop of 8-10°C in temperatures is also anticipated.

EXPECTED TO START AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT

The wind, which is expected to strengthen from the early hours of Thursday, is predicted to continue to affect the region intermittently as a storm until Saturday noon, while rainfall is expected to occur between Thursday 12:00-21:00 and Saturday 08:00-20:00.

YELLOW WARNING FOR BURSA FROM METEOROLOGY

The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for Bursa today and tomorrow. The warnings issued for today and tomorrow included the following sentences: "The wind, which is expected to start at 18:00 today and last until 18:00 tomorrow, is expected to blow generally from the south and southwest as a strong wind and storm (50-80 km/h), with strong storms (70-90 km/h) in higher areas, so caution and preparedness should be exercised against possible adverse conditions. Tomorrow, local heavy rainfall (21-50 kg/m2) and thunderstorms are expected to last from 15:00 to 21:00. Caution and preparedness are required against adverse conditions such as sudden floods, waterlogging, lightning, hail, sudden strong winds, and short-term storms that may disrupt transportation."

STORM WARNING FOR KOCAELI

Strong local rainfall is expected in Kocaeli starting from Thursday. The Kocaeli Governorship, warning citizens about the situation, stated, "Citizens and relevant parties should be cautious and prepared against possible adverse conditions that may arise from heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, such as sudden floods, waterlogging, lightning, hail, strong winds, and short-term storms that may disrupt transportation."

FERRY SERVICES CANCELLED IN ÇANAKKALE DUE TO STORM

Gestas Maritime Transportation Inc., which operates passenger and vehicle transportation on the Çanakkale Strait and island routes, announced that some ferry services on the Çanakkale-Eceabat line have been canceled due to the lodos storm expected to reach speeds of 75 kilometers per hour starting from midnight tonight. Accordingly, ferry services from Eceabat to Çanakkale between 04:00 and 06:00 and from Çanakkale at 05:00 have been canceled.
