In the Çeşme district of İzmir, a security officer named Soner Boztepe lost his life after being struck on the head with an axe during a fight that broke out between two site workers over a sunbed spot. It was alleged that the attacker started a fire to distract the gendarmerie teams.
KILLED WITH AN AXE IN A FIGHT
The incident occurred around 2:00 AM near Gücücek Bay in the Ovacık neighborhood of the district. According to the information obtained, a dispute arose between Soner Boztepe (29), who worked as a security officer at one site, and a worker from a neighboring site over a sunbed spot. As the argument quickly escalated into a fight, the individual, who was learned to be the guard of the neighboring site, struck Boztepe on the head with an axe. Soner Boztepe, who was hit on the right side and had an open wound on his head, died at the scene. Gendarmerie and medical teams who arrived at the scene upon notification determined that Boztepe had lost his life.
ALLEGATION OF "STARTING A FIRE TO DISTRACT THE GENDARMERIE"
Gendarmerie teams, who began examining the security camera footage in the area, identified the attacker as a result of meticulous work. The investigation revealed that the murder was committed by the worker from the neighboring site. It was alleged that the suspect, who attempted to flee after the incident, started a fire in the surrounding scrubland to hide his location and distract the gendarmerie teams.
MOTIVE FOR THE MURDER: "SUNBED"
Furthermore, it was learned that the reason for the murder was the "sunbed spot" dispute between the two site workers. Efforts to capture the suspect are ongoing.
