In the Beyşehir district of Konya, a couple lost their lives in a house fire. The fire broke out around 02:00 in a summer house located in the Üzümlü neighborhood along the Beyşehir-Antalya highway. According to the information obtained, the fire started for an undetermined reason in the summer house owned by the couple Zeki Özbay and Aynur Özbay. Upon seeing the smoke, nearby residents reported the incident, and fire, medical, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.
FIRE EXTINGUISHED AFTER LONG EFFORTS
The fire, which spread to three points, was brought under control and extinguished as a result of the teams' long efforts. An examination conducted by the teams revealed that Zeki Özbay and Aynur Özbay had lost their lives. The couple's bodies were taken to the morgue of Beyşehir State Hospital.
7 CATTLE IN THE BARN ALSO PERISHED
Furthermore, it was learned that the couple was engaged in livestock farming, and 7 cattle in the barn perished, while other animals were reported missing. Gendarmerie teams initiated a search operation using drones to locate the missing animals.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
