In the investigation into the deaths of the Böcek family, consisting of four members who died from poisoning in Fatih, Istanbul, after arriving from Germany, the procedures for seven suspects at the prosecutor's office have been completed. Six suspects were referred to the court with a request for arrest, while judicial control was requested for one suspect.
In Istanbul, 6 out of 7 suspects have been referred to the court with a request for arrest in the poisoning tragedy that claimed the lives of the Böcek family.
The investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues regarding the deaths of Kadir Muhammet Böcek (6) and Masal Böcek (3), along with their mother Çiğdem Böcek and father Servet Böcek, who were taken to the hospital from the hotel where they were staying in Fatih.
REQUEST FOR ARREST OF 6 PEOPLE
Out of the 7 individuals detained as part of the investigation, 6 have been referred to the court with a request for arrest. Judicial control has been requested for one suspect.
FOCUSING ON CHEMICAL POISONING
The preliminary report from the Forensic Medicine Institution regarding the Böcek family, who died from poisoning in Istanbul, indicated that there could be a chemical poisoning related to the environment of the hotel they stayed in. It was stated that the primary finding of the poisoning was chemical substance poisoning in the hotel.
4 PEOPLE HAD BEEN ARRESTED
Servet and Çiğdem Böcek, along with their children Kadir Muhammet and Masal, who arrived in Istanbul from Germany on November 9 and stayed at a hotel in Fatih, were taken to the hospital on November 12 due to complaints of nausea and vomiting, and the children could not be saved despite intervention. The mother, who was treated at Taksim Training and Research Hospital, passed away on November 14, and the father on November 17.
Two tourists staying at the hotel where the family was lodged were also treated at the same hospital due to complaints of nausea and vomiting. A third person who stayed in the same room and was present as a companion for the patients was hospitalized for examination due to low heart rate.
After the police team's investigation as part of the inquiry, the hotel was sealed. A total of 11 suspects were detained as part of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. After their procedures, the seafood vendor Y.D., the confectioner F.T., the kokoreç vendor E.E., and the café operator F.M.O. were arrested.
