In the operation carried out in Istanbul and Tokat, 26 suspects, including hospital staff and pharmacy employees, were detained. It was determined that the suspects received commissions by writing prescriptions for high-priced medications in excess without the patients' knowledge.

The teams of the Financial Crimes Investigation Department of the Istanbul Police Department, in coordination with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, determined that suspects who had agreements with certain pharmacies or worked there acted in concert with personnel responsible for data entry at a city hospital. It was found that the suspects directed patients they followed in the hospital to agreed pharmacies by prescribing high-priced medications under the pretext of assisting them with their procedures and received commissions from this transaction.

26 SUSPECTS ARRESTED

The teams uncovered that high-priced medications that were written excessively on prescriptions without the patients' knowledge and billed to SGK were obtained from pharmacies where the suspects acted jointly and sold under the table to third parties. The teams, which identified the identities and addresses of the suspects, arrested 26 suspects in a simultaneous operation carried out in Istanbul and Tokat.

The suspects were taken to the police for processing.
